This week we are very pleased to launch our new range of double and single luxury wooden ring boxes with solid walnut cases and marquetry tops. We have used a range of beautiful veneers such as pear, smoked chestnut, cherry, ripple sycamore and rosewood. We have experimented with a range of different designs, with inspiration from a variety of sources, but again we have been drawn to abstract uniform shapes, both geometric, circular and curved. All these Cubi boxes have been made by hand in our Somerset workshop to the same high standard of quality, with a beautifully smooth finish which feel incredibly tactile to hold. We think that they are perfect as a wedding day ring box or an engagement ring box but can also be used for any other special occasion or simply to hold a special ring or a pair of cufflinks.
We have produce two double ring boxes named Lyra with a linked ring design in contrasting light and dark woods to symbolise joined wedding bands. This is a universal motif that is a visual representation of togetherness and unity. We think that this would make the perfect contemporary wedding day box to take to the church. The rings are simply placed side by side in a circular space for easy access storage. This enables the box to have a slim profile to store neatly in a pocket, with the concealed magnetic catch keeping the box securely together until it is required to be pulled gently open at the special moment required.
The Louis Cube was named after French King Louis XIV in whose reign this parquetry pattern became popular, however this design has been around for a very long time as it was used on Greek and Roman mosaic tiled floors. It is made up of three diamond shapes in contrasting woods, light, medium and dark, which when placed together, visually form a three dimensional effect. Our Louis Cube handmade wooden ring box is named Nova and the case is made from solid walnut, with parquetry veneers of walnut, cherry and sycamore. We have also made an elongated Nova double ring box, with Louis Cube marquetry in Indian rosewood, smoked chestnut and aqua tulipwood.
Two other ring boxes in the marquetry collection are our single ring boxes with geometric designs called Stella and Vega. Stella has a parquetry design made up of four Isosceles triangles in pear and Indian rosewood and Vega has one triangle making a 'V' shape with the same contrasting woods but with a different more unusual interior of lilac tulipwood.
Another new single walnut ring box that we have named Elipse simply has two offset circles of sycamore and walnut set against the beautiful dark smoked chestnut top, An understated timeless design to hold a ring for a special ceremony such as an engagement or wedding.
Our new double walnut ring box called Capella has two circular veneered disks side by side. A simple but very striking design especially with the bright orange tulipwood shining out against the rich Indian rosewood, also available in a more subtle but equally as beautiful version with disks of ripple sycamore set against a smoked chestnut. background,
Last but not least is Helia, our double ring box with a contemporary oval design inspired by the abstract art we love. We have been busy developing other colour ways in this design which we hope to launch soon. The last few weeks have been a very exciting and productive period at Cubi and we have enjoyed developing these new luxury wooden boxes very much. We hope that they will help to make someones special day even more memorable by choosing a unique wooded ring box that can be cherished for years to come.
all the above Cubi wooden double wedding ring boxes and single engagement ring boxes are available to purchase on our website now.
