Last week we were very pleased to receive an email saying that our recent application to the Crafts Council Directory had been accepted. Founded in 1972 the Crafts Council is the national charity for craft and an organisation which has been supporting and promoting crafts and makers for the last 50 years. Their ethos is summarised very well by their own website statement:
"We inspire making, empower learning and nurture craft businesses.
We believe craft skills and knowledge enrich and uplift us as individuals, and, in doing so, will change our world for the better".
The Crafts Council Collection has been acquired over the last 50 years and it covers all craft disciplines including: ceramics, glass, textiles, furniture, metalwork, jewellery, lettering and bookbinding and these pieces can be hired and exhibited, which is a very generous concept, regularly benefiting individual exhibitions all over the country.
It is great to have our Cubi ring boxes listed in the Crafts Council Directory and have this recognition of quality by joining all the other wonderful Crafts Council makers throughout the country who produce handmade products with such artistic value and creative integrity.
